Х12МФ is a hard tool steel with a high chromium content, designed for tools and knives where maximum wear resistance and long edge retention are required.
It is the Russian equivalent of D2 steel.
Chemical composition:
- Carbon (C): 1.45–1.65 %
- Chromium (Cr): 11–12.5 %
- Molybdenum (Mo): 0.4–0.6 %
- Vanadium (V): 0.15–0.30 %
- Manganese (Mn): up to 0.45 %
- Silicon (Si): up to 0.4 %
Mechanical properties: Hardness after heat treatment: 58–62 HRC
